About
Steve Pomerantz
I am a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, Eagle Scout and entrepreneur. I'm originally from the Rochester, New York area, but after graduating from UMass Amherst, I fled the snowy lifestyle and have lived in sunny Arizona for nearly two decades. In addition to owning Pomerantz Insurance Agency (I opened the agency in 2020), I am an active volunteer for nonprofits related to autism as well as those that support Veterans.
In addition to my own extensive experience and education, I come from a long line of Healthcare and Insurance Professionals β Iβve been around these issues my entire life and understand them on both a personal and professional level. Indeed, I grew up with a father and grandfather who both worked for decades in the health insurance and medical fields. Al Pomerantz, my late grandfather, built a thriving insurance business in New York and is my role model for always treating clients via the Golden Rule.
My dad, Jay Pomerantz, is a retired Geriatric Internist, former Medical Director of two hospitals on the East Coast, former Medical Director of an insurance company, and is currently an insurance consultant for a national healthcare company.
Something that sets me apart from many others in the industry is a significant life-altering event that made me fully realize the importance of having the right kind of health insurance. When I was in my mid-30s, my wife and I were busy working and enjoying life while parenting our young son β¦ and then I received a devastating diagnosis of Leukemia. It took a lot of cutting-edge medical care as well as a tremendous amount of time, compassion, and prayers, but I survived this very lengthy and difficult cancer diagnosis.
All of my life experiences β especially my long cancer journey β have led me to understand on a deeply personal level the physical, emotional, and financial ramifications of health insurance. The bottom line is: I get it, I truly do. It gives me great personal satisfaction to help my clients obtain healthcare coverage that fits their needs and is there to help them and their family with health issues.

What this means to you is this: I know how to play the 'game' and when I escalate issues, I speak directly to managers and vice presidents. This is why I tell my clients: Do not call the insurance company β call me and let me help you.
When You Call The Insurance Company...
- β You usually get a super-frustrating voice-mail runaround.
- β Chat-bots tend to ask you seemingly never-ending irrelevant questions.
- β Untrained or poorly trained personnel often are unable or unwilling to escalate matters.
When I Call The Insurance Company...
- β What: I get accurate answers quickly and efficiently.
- β How: I know how and to whom to escalate the situation.
- β Why: I care about you and I understand the question(s) you need answered.
It's Not A Bother!
" Sometimes clients say they don't want to "bother" me, but it's not a bother to help you β it's honestly one of the best and most satisfying parts of my job. "
